Standard ASAM
A Standard ASAM Substance Abuse Assessment covers all the standards and requirements set forth by the American Society of Addiction Medicine 3rd Edition and a clinical diagnosis set forth by the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th Edition. This service comprises of 6 dimensions: Intoxication & Withdrawal Potential, Biomedical Conditions, Emotional/Behavioral/Cognitive Conditions, Readiness to Change, Relapse/Continued Use/Continued Problem Potential, & Recovery/Living Environment. As well, a Level of Care and treatment recommendation is given based on these criteria and the client’s needs and circumstances.

Additionally, it will cover family of origin, a more in-depth look into mental health, interpersonal relationships, and relapse/recovery history, all in an attempt at providing clarity to disease onset, course of illness, and provide context to an individual's life.
